SimpleLister is an easy-to-use, simple list-making app. It was created for my wife for grocery and other shopping, but could certainly be used for other types of lists as well. Features include:

  • Create multiple, named lists.

  • For each list, create, edit, sort, and delete unlimited items.

  • Item fields include a code, a quantity or amount, the units used, description, and an assigned color.

  • The code, units, and description fields use our unique autocompletion edit field and dictionaries.



  • Each field "learns" your entries, allowing these fields to be filled in quickly.

  • List items can be sorted by code or color.

  • List items can be moved up or down in the list.

  • New list items can be inserted.

  • Items can be check or unchecked and checked items can be deleted all at once.

  • Items can be copied and/or moved to other lists.


SimpleLister Launch View

The initial view you see when you launch SimpleLister for the first time is an empty list view that says "No list files found."

Tapping the "+" button will open a dialog to enter the name for a new list file.

After creating one or more log files they will show up in the list as shown in the second screen shot.

Tapping a list file in the list will load the file and take you to the List View

When you tap the "+" (Create new log file) button on the Launch SimpleLister View, this dialog appears.

Enter a new log file name and tap the "OK" button, or "Cancel" to cancel the operation.

Log file names can have only letters (Caps or lowercase) or digits with no spaces or punctuation.

 

List View

When you tap a list file name on the Launch View, you open a view showing a list of entries. If the list is a new file, the list will have a default entry that you can edit.

Menu Items
The menu items on the Gig/Event List View are:

Sort by code
Sorts your items by the code (first column next to checkbox).

Sort by color
Sorts your items according to the color of the entry.

Delete Checked
Deletes all the checked items in the list.

Email List
Takes you to the Send Email View

Help
Takes you to this help file online.

List View Context Menu

Context Menu
If you tap and hold down an individual event in the Log List View, a context menu will pop up. The menu items are:

Move item up
Moves the selected item up in the list.

Move item down
Moves the selected item down in the list.

Insert new item
Inserts a default item into the list before the selected item.

Delete selected item
Removes the selected item from the list and deletes it from the list file.

 
Edit List item
Opens the Add/Edit Item View

 
Move item to
Moves an item to another list.

Add/Edit Item View

The top row of the Add/Edit Item View shows the current item's color.

The next row has 3 edit boxes to enter an optional one letter "Code" for this item, the quantity, and the type of quantity of the item.

The Description line allows you to enter a brief descriptive summary of the item.

Select the color of the item from the choices in the last row.

Tapping "OK" saves the new or edited list item and takes you back to the List View.

Tapping "Cancel" takes you back to the List View but does not save any changes in the list item.

 

Send Email View

This view allows you to send the list document to the email address entered. The email address is saved and will appear again the next time the view is shown.

Tapping "OK" takes you to the email "chooser" system dialog box that is phone and service provider specific.

Once the email is sent, or if you click "Cancel" you will automatically return to the Item List View.

 

Export View

This view allows you to export your entries in CSV format and email the files. The CSV file can be opened in Excel or other spreadsheet programs.

The email address field saves the email address like it does on the Send Email View.
