Setup Dialog

The Setup Dialog is a property sheet with tabbed pages attached to it. You can navigate to the appropriate page by clicking on the tab headers at the top. There are three setup option categories:

Setup Dialog - Fonts Selection Page
The Font Selection Page allows the selection of the large font used in the Month and Year Buttons, the font used for displaying the date on the main dialog window, the marks which show up on buttons, the small font used for printing, and the font used in edit controls and list controls. The Month/Year font and the date button font will be used for printing as well.

Clicking on any of the buttons on the left will display the standard Windows95 font selection dialog. You can choose any font installed on your system. Font size can be selected from the standard Windows font dialog. You may also choose from the standard "pure" colors used for text. The selected point size of the font will appear in the edit field next to the font name.

New with version 5.1 is the ability to select "effects" for the displayed fonts.

You may notice that some fonts will set the "Bold" checkbox in the dialog even though you chose the normal, non-bold style. This is because the number used by the font designer and that Window's uses for specifying the weight for your font selection is in the bold range ( >= 700) even though it shows as normal in the font selection dialog.

When you click on "OK" these settings will take effect immediately and will also be saved to the Windows95 Registry so that the next time you run Simple Calendar, your font selections will be used.

You may select text color and a "raised" text, a "sunken" text, or flat effect for the text displayed on the date, month, and year buttons. Printed text does not show these effects, but it will print in the color choosen from the Choose Font Dialog.

The font for program edit controls is also selectable. The selection affects all edit controls and list controls in the entire program. This will allow many foreign language fonts to be used in the edit controls.
